By the waking of our hearts, by the stirring of our soul,
may the Spirit of God abide in us and bring us together in Christ.
With the words above ringing in their hearts and through their voices, the Sisters of the North American Province of the School Sisters of St. Francis of Christ the King opened their Chapter on Easter Sunday evening, April 4, 2010 with a celebration of community Evening Prayer (Vespers) and the blessing of the Chapter Members.
The theme Discerning, Celebrating and Actualizing Our Possibilities guided Chapter members who began every day with a festive liturgy celebrated by Fr. Charles Faso, OFM
Each day had a focus that led the Sisters to emphasize the internal unity of spirit and love that will allow them to be more fully engaged in the mission of the Church and explore the possibilities that lay before them as those who seek to build the Kingdom of God with their lives.
The Council Members from 2004-2010, along with the Chapter Commission, strove to help the Chapter and community to discern, celebrate, and plan how we might actualize our possibilities in the next six years. The 2004-2010 Provincial Council are, from left to right: Sr. Therese Ann Quigney, Councilor; Sr. Patricia Kolenda, Provincial Superior; Sr. Barbara Markovich, Vicaress; Sr. Marjorie Westendorf, Councilor; Sr. Cynthia Ann Drozd, Councilor.

Chapter members heard various reports that offered them a view of the current realities of the province, its institutions and other ministries, as well as the situation of the Sisters themselves. They discussed a series of key questions that the community at-large had shaped, and projected various resolutions to guide the new administration over the next six years, Chapter Members set forth a vision and direction.
Vision Statement
Rooted in Gospel values, our tradition and our heritage,
and listening attentively to the Spirit,
we respond to the call of the Church and our community.
With our gifts and our limitations,
together as Franciscan women,
we walk into the future with hope and a passion for possibilities.
